About Sarah
I have always loved the symmetry of my initials and wanted to make them my logo. Winter is my actual middle name!
I have loved making things since I was a little kid. Making things helps soothe my busy brain. I feel good when I am creating, thinking about creating, or talking to people about art and craft. I love the community that can form around craft and want to foster that as much as possible.
I am an infectious disease microbiologist by training. My research training has shaped how I see the world, taught me to problem solve, and informs the questions I ask. The same little kid who loved creating was the same little kid who wanted to know how and why things worked.
My desire to explore and experiment have led me down many creative paths. I love doing a deep dive into something new and trying to figure out how to make it work for me.
Values
Connection, community, and the joy of creating are central to my business and who I am as a person.
I have a love for the natural world and strive to combine thoughtful design with sustainability. I am constantly exploring ideas and techniques to reduce my personal art and textile waste with the hope of expanding to take on waste from other artists.
My rope baskets are made using 100% recycled cotton rope
I get materials second hand whenever possible which includes search thrift stores and creative reuse centers
I grow most of the flowers I press at home
I do not use generative AI
